Although the modernization has brought in a shift in the Indian dressing style but women clothing in India is still primarily connected with the customary traditional clothing. This is why dresses like salwar suits, saris, lehnga and ghaghras are the prime choice of women while attending a traditional ceremony. Interestingly, these are the evergreen women apparel aging back to the ancient Indian era and since then they have been in fashion and has never been out of the women apparel hit list. Needles to say the charisma and elegance of Indian women clothing is such that it is irresistible for Indian women to stay away from these.  

Apart from some women wear that are considered as national wear (as they are worn nationally by everyone) there is a sub category of fashion in our country that is divided partially by religion and partially by geographical bounds. Punjabi women are more likely to wear Patiala, salwar kurti with duppatta, while a Rajasthani woman will prefer wearing a churidaar salwar with kurti and duppatta, where the women kurti remains common for both of them, the prime difference lies in the patterns of salwars. Likewise with some minor changes these provinces and states have made their own unique dresses.
